Google is an incredibly powerful channel as it allows brands to target users who are actively seeking solutions. Google allows for different types of ad types to be run and all should be tested to determine which ad type works best to drive business objectives.

Our SEM methodology is to trust the robot and don’t put too many parameters on, this will allow robots to work harder for you.

Our process is to first jump into the backend of your website, Google Analytics, and Google Ads to look under the hood at what is and isn’t working, allowing us to make early informed data-led decisions. Our team will then do desktop research to better understand what the wider market is doing and what your customers are searching for. Once the above is known our team will put together a media plan which highlights expected returns + the ad types and keywords we will target.

Account access

To run ads we first need access to your Google Ads, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager accounts. Our biggest tip here is never let an agency set up your account as an owner, that way if you ever leave them, they own your data and you’ll have to start again which can be very costly. We ensure you own your Google accounts and if needed can help you set them up and help you give us access to your Google accounts.

Account tracking and measurement

Arguably the most important phase of a successful Google Ads campaign tracking and measurement. It’s important because this powers the robot to understand the ad campaign objective. Using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager we set up your events and website conversions. We often find these are not set up correctly and are usually the cause of a lot of headaches.

We work with you to determine your campaign KPIs and ensure we can track and report on your results.

Google Ad keyword research + search copy writing

Using Google we do some desktop research to better understand what keywords we should be bidding on and what ad campaigns we need to set up. We review your competitors, search low and high bids to help detemerine where the low hanging fruit is, where we need to defend and where we need to attack.

Once the keywords are agreed upon, our team will also write the search ad copy for your review before we publish and set any campaigns live.

Moderation, management and reporting

We go the extra mile and send weekly reports. This highlights to our clients that we are always on the dials and looking at ways to improve your conversions. We moderate and optimise your ads weekly allowing us to be nimble enough to move fast when new learnings or trends come up.

Website conversion review

Each month we will review your website and offer advice on website updates to help generate more sales/leads. The objective of your paid ad campaign is to drive clicks to your website, and the objective of your website is to convert that traffic into sales/leads. Our goal as an extension of your team is to help highlight where the roadblocks are and suggest updates to help remove the campaign ovjective blockers.

With the paid ad landscape changing almost as often as you need to change your bed sheets, our team are required to be on the dials and to stay on trend.

Paid ads are a massive part of most marketing/advertising campaigns because the cost of entry to market is much lower than traditional advertising. With data privacy becoming tighter (rightly so) and different demographics engaging with different channels, we see paid ads as an always evolving space, in 5 years time we’ll probably be looking at ‘tap to shop’ whilst binging your favourite Netflix series. We’re not there yet, but it’s close.

This is why we don’t have a set and forget rack rate for paid ads, we treat each client differently and share learnings from the 50+ campaigns we are running at any one time.
