We recently travelled to Adelaide for the 21st Australian Web Awards. It was a fun-filled and inspiring night sharing the room with so many talented people doing incredible work across our industry.

Nine nominations across five projects was plenty to celebrate on its own, but walking away with two wins for our work with Stride Mental Health (for Not-for-Profit and Best in Show for Content) was the cherry on top.

Websites are judged on user experience, design, development, accessibility, SEO and content. Best in Show awards are given to any agency that had the highest scoring submission within a specifc criteria.

About the Australian Web Awards

The Australian Web Awards recognise the best in Australian web design and development each year, celebrating the studios, agencies, and teams pushing the standard of digital work across the country. Entries are judged across a range of categories – from not-for-profit and content through to ecommerce and technical achievement – making it one of the most comprehensive benchmarks for the industry.

About the projects

Stride Mental Health

Stride supports people living with mental illness to lead full and meaningful lives. Through workshopping and a thorough design process, we uncovered that the people who needed their services most were having a difficult time finding them.

The key goal was removing friction for users at the moments that matter the most – someone in a crisis situation shouldn’t have to work hard to find the next step. The site we built aims to place the correct information in front of the right people, quickly and clearly, without overwhelming them, and with clear next steps.

Nuttelex

A classic Australian plant-based food brand with a loyal following had just had a brand overhaul and new marketing strategy to bring them into the modern FMCG landscape. Two nominations – Hospitality and Retail – reflect the range of audiences the site needed to speak to.

Natural Resource Management Regions Australia

A nomination in Science & Sustainability for work that helps communicate the importance of natural resource management and the important work done by the 54 regions it represents across Australia.

The Doherty Institute

Two nominations – Science & Sustainability and WordPress – for Australia’s leading infectious disease research institute. The challenge was translating complex science into something accessible without losing rigour. Highlighting the impact of their work and the people behind it.

Troon Self Storage

Troon Self Storage earned a nomination in Home, Building & Interiors. Storage isn’t a category people usually linger over – they’re often in the middle of a move, a renovation, or a life change, and they need to find the right option and book it without friction. The site was built around that reality, making it easy for people to find what they need and take the next step with confidence.

Thank you

A big shout-out to our brilliant web team for their incredible work this past year, and to our clients who trusted the process from the beginning. The work we do is to create impact for users, not to win awards, but it’s so very nice to be recognised by our industry
